Concern About the Present and the Future

Providing sustenance for the global population is the challenge of a globalized economy and society.

At Farm Chapadão dos Sonhos, we are committed to caring for the future and the planet. In our quest to meet the production needs of future generations while maintaining the ecosystem, embraced the best cultivation practices. Our aim is to contribute to the continuity of life under ideal conditions and ensure the perpetuity of the world in its best version. To achieve this, we have intensified the use of biological products in our crops, which promote a better balance in the environment and significantly reduce the use of chemically derived products. The range of biological products already employed is extensive, and the results are becoming increasingly compelling.

Another technique we employ is precision agriculture, to promote better uniformity of cultivated areas, making annual pinpoint corrections and increasing production averages with necessary adjustments.

We have, in a continuous area, all the environmental requirements fulfilled, such as legal reserve, protected areas of permanent preservation and the correct management of rainwater.

With practices like these, in addition to benefiting the production system and the environment at the same time, we also contribute to local development, consuming and producing inputs in the region's commerce and industries.

The 'Soja Legal' is an initiative of Aprosoja, of which we are members, established with the purpose of improving the image of soybeans in Brazil and worldwide.
It is present on 1,600 properties, covering more than 3.2 million hectares, equivalent to approximately 30,000 km², bearing the project's seal and ensuring sustainable production. Consequently, the production complies with the main continuous improvements in compliance and is recognized by Europe, China, and the FAO.

The focus is to demonstrate that soybeans are a sustainable and safe product for consumption. After all, of the 66% of native vegetation that is protected and preserved within Brazilian territory, 26% is on rural properties. In Mato Grosso, of the more than 60% of preserved area, over 40% is within productive areas, contributing to biodiversity and ecological corridors.

The improvements promoted by the program contribute to the governance of productive activities, the conservation of natural resources, the social well-being of workers, rural producers, and local communities, and focus on the links of the production chain: production, processing, marketing, and conservation. It assists in the reduction, management, and reverse logistics of solid waste and contributes to the development of sustainable agriculture with a long-term continuous improvement strategy

The Soy 3S is an initiative by Cargill in partnership with IBS (Biosystemic Institute). Its objective is to structure and implement actions on rural properties that integrate sustainability, local laws, and continuous improvement practices aimed at helping producers meet the new global demand.

The project includes raising awareness among producers, diagnosing the situation of properties based on the principles and criteria of the 3S program, developing action plans, and providing continuous improvement support for the assisted properties. This applies to all stages of production, which must adhere to principles of sustainable land use and good agricultural practices, protect worker well-being, and manage greenhouse gas emissions..

The program is already referenced and recognized as equivalent to the Silver level of the FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessment) standard, part of the SAI (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) Platform. The FSA is an important tool for the food and beverage industry to drive agricultural sustainability.

The Produzindo Certo Platform partners with many of Fazenda Chapadão dos Sonhos' key clients, such as Amaggi, ADM, and Louis Dreyfus. The certification attests to the farm's socio-environmental and productive performance and identifies key areas for improvement with constant monitoring of process evolution. The program creates a digital database that compiles farm diagnostics, generates updated performance reports, and connects to georeferenced systems to monitor critical risks such as deforestation and embargoes.
